Trip to the Marches

This will be the last post for a while, as my holiday starts tomorrow. We're off to Herefordshire/Shropshire, to explore lots of historic towns, castles, cathedrals, including: Roger Mortimer's castles of Wigmore and Ludlow; Hereford, where the Younger Despenser was executed in 1326; Hereford Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi; the Black and White Village Trail, with lots of medieval and Tudor buildings; the site of the Battle of Mortimer's Cross, 1461; and Lower Brockhampton, a late fourteenth-century moated manor house. And more! Yay!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that the weather isn't tooooo bad - and see you on or around 25 September!

Have fun.

All the people who comment on my blog regularly seem to be on holiday the same time. *sniff* ;)

Susan: I'll try to assuage your jealousy by showing you all my photos. :)

Gabriele: funny, I've noticed that too!
